Gamila Healing Soap

Handmade With Love

The herbs and oils are combined in a special, traditional process, which ensures the protection of the active elements in the ingredients. In this fashion, the no less than 673 active components, which make this soap so special and valuable, are released gradually.

Only the most pure ingredients are used in the process!

The soap making-process starts with the blending of the herbs. Not all of the herbs are combined immediately. Some herbs are blended and prepared separately. During this phase, Gamila works according to a natural order: first the roots and stem are added, then the branches and finally the leaves and the flowers.

Quality takes time and blessing.

Then the mixture is boiled and stirred for up to forty hours. In this way only, all of the components are released. In comparison: most "normal" soaps are boiled for one hour only. After boiliing, the mixture is poured into a low tray and smoothed level. Here, the soap is left to harden for about thirty hours before it can be stamped. Then, like a fine wine, the soap is aged slowly up to three months. Before the soap is packaged, there is one last and possibly most important step in the whole process: the personal blessing of her soap by Gamila.

The secret formula of a wonder soap.

Gamila searched for the perfect formula for years. Because she cannot read or write herself, she learned what she needed to know by talking with experts in surrounding villages and towns, some of whom lived several hours' walk from her house. Dermatologists, herbalists and other experts helped her to find out what she needed to know bit by bit. Gamila's family assists her in her work with great dedication and passion and that is why Gamila's secret formula is safe with them who can carry on her mission generation after generation.

The Story of Gamila

A harmonious balance between human and nature

"I am Gamila of Galilee, A daughter of the ancient Druze nation, born and raised in the village of PQI"IN, amongst the evergreen hills of the north, in the land of the Bible.

When I was born, my grandmother bathed me in sacred water from the village spring, with Olive oil soap she had made from the fruit of the family's ancient grove. Then she anointed my body with a fragrant mixture of wild herbs, picked from the hillsides, and chanted the sacred, secret words of the Druze blessing for the new born."

Olives and herbs from the green hills of Galilee

An impressive olive tree adorns one of the idyllic, grassy hills near the rustic village of Peki'in. Time seems to have stood still here for two hundred years, expressing itself in no more than the regular rhythm of day and night, summer and winter.

In the open fields of Galilee hundreds of herbs can be found, which have been used for centuries by the Druze as medicine. The Druze know the healing secrets of nature like no other people.

Savta Gamila knows the secret of mother nature

Inspired by the legacy and knowledge of previous generations, Gamila set out to communicate to the world all that is good in nature. In the course of her long life, this wish developed into a mission: to help and heal present and future generations.

Gamila sought her whole life for the right formula of natural ingredients for her salutary soap. In the family's gardens, which date back to Roman times, her mother and grandmother tutored her in recognizing and using the various herbs that grew there.

A secret formula of the best natural ingredients

She learned how to press SUPERIOR OLIVE OIL from the olives which came from their own trees that she and her family had planted a long time ago. Gamila uses olive oil from the first and second pressing only.

Like all ingredients in the soap, this precious olive oil is fit for consumption and has a powerful, nourishing effect. Only the best is good enough for the soap. These herbs and olive oil, combined with a plethora of natural oils, form the basis for the range of soaps that she has created. After years of experimenting, Gamila finally settled on her secret formula containing more than 673 active ingredients.
